We Are All Bourgeois Now

Lots of other people seem to have picked up on the decision of one of the 'thought-leaders' of the British pro-war 'Left', Alan Johnson, to finally publically renounce Marxism. It would be nice to think that this blog might do a careful point-by-point 'In Defence of Marxism' type rebuttal of Johnson's nonsense. But this renegade Johnson doesn't deserve that and so instead I am going to link to the lyrics of a satirical Manic Street Preachers song, 'We Are All Bourgeois Now', as it serves as more than an adequate political critique.

Actually, I think that's a pretty persuasive collection of arguments from Johnson, whether you happen to agree with them or not. Far better, I think you'll find, than you'll get from dumbass pseudo-socialist manics.

Great shout. The Manics version was only a cover though. The original was by awesome 80s political punk pop geniuses McCarthy.

Manics, as in short for the Manic Street Preachers themselves. Possibly the world's most hypocritical band?

Sorry minifig - misread your post as 'maniacs' for some odd reason - with you now...

Hypocrits - possibly - but I remember how inspiring and powerful some of their stuff is, and was ('Let Robeson sing' etc) and so forgive them. Haven't heard their latest album...

Hope you are well anyway...
