Marxism 2006

Like any good historical materialist who lives within travelling distance of London I will be at the Marxism event next month so blogging here may well become less frequent for a short period from now on. You have been warned.

Damn.

You can't do a blogger's account of the conference can you? If you're going to the IS Tendency meeting, say hi to the short guy with long hair and goatee from Quebec. He's on a district committee with me and is the world's greatest resource on Quebec politics. I think he'll make an intervention on Quebec Solidaire, the new left party in Quebec which now has 6000 members (after four months of existence) and won over 20% in a by-election this past April. Makes us anglos quite jealous.

Fuck, I wish I was going...

Is there going to be a IS Blogger meeting?

Doug - I promise I will do 'a bloggers report' of conference on my return though I don't usually take detailed notes like some bloggers do.

As for the IS bloggers meet up - I am up for one (especially since I have yet to meet 'Lenin' or indeed most of the other IS bloggers) but if I told you there was one already pre-arranged then it would only make you more jealous. I'll certainly look out for the Canadian delegation though.

I will be with the central london delegation. West London will have some bloggers, as will south east, Cambridge and Mancasturr.

Oh, it all sooooo exciting!

Why is Marxism 2006 being held in 2007? Can anyone explain this to me?
Was there a cancellation?
